Cabling
Relative to its importance, cabling is often given the least attention
of any part of a company's computing infrastructure. Don't fail to
realize the obvious: If the cabling
doesn't work, nothing will work!
All cabling in the United States should comply with the latest TIA/EIA/ANSI
standards. In addition, local building codes, in particular, the
electrical
codes and the fire codes must be
complied with. Buildings with considerable telecommunications gear
should also comply to the IEEE
Standard 1100, Recommended Practice for Powering and Grounding
Sensitive Electronic Equipment. Bristol Systems Inc. only uses BICSI
certified cabling installers.
International Standards
Organization has equivalent cabling standards that apply to many non-US
countries.
