BSI Proxy Server
A Proxy Server provides several basic functions:
- It caches web pages to improve the bandwidth utilization of your Internet
connection.
- It enforces web page access policies, blocking undesirable web pages
- It provides optional password access control
- It tracks and reports on web browsing.

Bristol Systems Inc. configures its proxy server to provide both corporate
and individual access policies. At a corporate level, policies can be
implemented that control access (and time of access) to certain web sites.
Our proxy server is combined with an interactive reporting function that
provides a variety of useful reports on who accesses what sites. We
recommend making such information available to all employees so that web site
access is moderated more on peer pressure than by management fiat.
A proxy server improves Internet bandwidth utilization by caching and sharing
all web pages that are accessed by all employees.
A proxy server is just one tool for providing security, implementing policy,
and improving performance. It is to be used in conjunction with your
firewall and intrusion detection systems.

assistance.
